Like so many people, we were devastated to hear of the Maui wildfires and the horrible toll they’ve taken on the island and its people. As of this posting on August 19, the Lahaina, Olinda, and Kula fires have led to the deaths of 114 people and destroyed more than 3,000 acres of land and thousands of homes. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced, some still searching for loved ones who are missing, and with the destruction of Lahaina, a vibrant and culturally important community has been lost.
In order to help raise money and awareness for relief efforts, we’ve donated a signed copy of our debut, Mirror Witch, plus a query-package critique for writers seeking agents or editors, to the Romance for Maui silent-auction fundraiser.
But if that doesn’t entice you, romance authors like Beverly Jenkins, Tessa Dare, Olivia Dade, Denise Williams, Julia Quinn, Katee Robert, Tessa Bailey, and Rebekah Witherspoon have donated signed books, annotated books, special swag, and even AMA Zoom chats to the cause—and that’s just the beginning. Bidding is open now and will remain so until 4 p.m. CST on August 21.
All proceeds will go to the Maui Fire Relief Fund, Maui Strong Fund, Hawai’i Food Bank, University of Hawai’i Foundation, and World Central Kitchen in Maui.
